How to Create Google Business Profile (GBP) Apartment Listings?

Learn how to create and verify Google Business Profile listings for your property.

Step 1: Sign in to Google Business Profile

Sign in to your Google Account, then navigate to Google Business Profile. Click “Create a profile.”

You can either create a new profile or find an existing one.

If you're creating a brand-new profile, you'll need to fill out the necessary information, including the business name and business category. In this case, the business category should be “apartment complex.”

⚠️ If you get a message that someone else has already managed your business or if the business needs to be claimed, you’ll need to request ownership or verify the listing to claim it.

You may be asked whether your business has a physical location. Select “Yes.”

 

Step 2: Add Your Business Information

Fill out your business’s physical address.


Then, provide a phone number and your business website URL, and click “Next.”

 

Step 3: Verify Your Business

To ensure your listing’s authenticity, Google requires verification. Before requesting verification, double-check your information for accuracy.

Verification Options:

  • Postcard: Google will mail a postcard with a unique code to your business address.
  • Phone Call: You’ll receive a call with a code to enter on your Business Profile.
  • Email: A verification email will be sent to the business email address. 
  • Video Verification: Record a video showing your business.

Step 4: Optimize Your Business Profile

Once your profile is verified, it's time to optimize it for visibility and performance.

  • Add business hours, a detailed business description, photos, and videos.
    • Your business description is what customers will see on Search, Maps, and other Google platforms.
    • 📸 Adding images gives customers a look inside and builds trust.
  • Include the services or products you offer.
  • Keep your profile up to date to improve customer experience and support your local SEO.

Once complete, Google will show a preview of your listing. Review it for accuracy before finalizing.
